The Weekly Raid

The Weekly Raid may share its title with a sci-fi cartoon publication, but this magazine is freely available and designed specifically for anyone who has dementia and their loved ones.

The Weekly Raid was designed by Darren Harwood who is the Older Peoples Liaison Support Worker at the Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust at Fairfield General Hospital. Darren created the magazine 5 years ago and wanted my opinion on it.

He created it for use with people he saw on acute hospital wards to help both patients, staff, and visitors engage in conversation with people with delirium and dementia. He is also looking for new ideas and things he could add to the magazine. Please contact Darren on the contact details below if you have any suggestions.

The magazine has an interesting history page shown below;

Interesting Biographical articles;

Born this week celebrities page;

A comedy quiz;

And a music quiz to challenge Pop Master entrants. All free and all worth taking a look at.

Sign up for your free copy with Darren and make photocopies for people. Consider laminating pages for durability and hygiene and creating a folder of pages for future use. It is free and fun.
